More Listeria Recalls

     Another company has discovered the Listeria bacterium within the contents. Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream, has become the latest company to issue recalls due to listeria, according to Inquisitr.com.

    

     According to CNN, the Nebraska Department of Agriculture tested a random sample of the products, which was found to contain listeria. An investigation by the Food and Drug Administration is under way, says Jeff Ventura, FDA spokesman.

 

 

     “At this time, the FDA does not believe that the finding of listeria in one sample of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is related to the outbreak and recall associated with Blue Bell Ice Cream. We are continuing to investigate both situations and will provide updated information to consumers as we learn more.”

 

    According to latimes.com, the recall includes "all ice creams, frozen yogurts, sorbets, and ice cream sandwiches for all flavors and containers," and any product bearing the Jeni's brand name.

     The company advised any customers who have purchased the products to throw them away or return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.

 

 

Divorce Increases Heart Attack Risks

 Women who have been divorced once, or men who have been divorced at least twice, are more likely to have a heart attack than people who get and stay married, according to a new study.

According to Fox News, remarriage only reverses the risk for men, the researchers also found. And for women divorced at least twice, the heart attack risk was comparable to that of having diabetes or high blood pressure.

The connection seemed stronger among women, but there was no evidence that a second marriage improved their situation. Women who remarried were still 35 percent more likely to suffer a heart attack than those who stayed with their first husband.

According to MSN.com, for men, breakups seemed to have less impact on the heart, the researchers found. Heart attack risk was elevated (by 30 percent) only among men who'd been divorced at least twice. And once men remarried, that increase disappeared.

Although divorce is bad for the heart, men and women can reduce the risk by eating healthy foods, exercising, reducing stress, according to Inquisitr.com.

 

    

 

 

 

 

 

Rescuers Help Stranded Dolphins on Japan Beach

A frantic rescue effort was sparked when nearly 150 dolphins washed up onto a beach in Japan.

According to Fox News, officials said that the dolphins were stranded on the beach in Hokota, a coastal city that's about a 6-mile stretch northeast of Tokyo.

According to the  International Business Times, teams are working to try to stop the skin of the dolphins from drying out, while others that are in good condition are carried back into the ocean in slings.

The majority of the dolphins, melon-headed whales or black-fish, were found alive but were extremely week and later died.

According to the New York Post, television footage showed dozens of people carrying buckets and pouring sea water over the dolphins, or even covering them with bath towels, to keep them from drying up.

Smaller beachings have occurred around Japanese coasts, including some 50 dolphins on a nearby beach in 2011.

Tunisia Attack Arrests

Nine people have been arrested in connection with the shooting that took place on Wednesday at the National Bardo Museum in Tunisia. 

According to CNN.com, the Islamic State group, ISIS, has claimed responsibility in the attack that led to the deaths of about 23 people and one who died overnight in the hospital. 

The ISIS message warned that bloodshed is "just the start."

The attack in Tunisia came without warning, and security forces did not arrive in time to prevent the massacre. 

According to abcnews.go.com, tourists inside the crowded museum in Tunisia's capital city ran for their lives, some shielding their children, as two gunmen approached. Later, they hid inside the galleries beneath priceless antiquities. 

The current U.S. thinking is the attack may have been carried out by local"franchise" adherents to ISIS, rather than centrally directed by the Islamist extremist group's leadership, which is now thought to be in Syria. 

According to foxnews.com, the minister said at least 80 percent of the group behind the attack has been detained. He said the gunmen that attacked the museum carried belts filled with semtex explosive, which would  have been "catastrophic" if used.
